Go in the hole: To fall off a building project

Headache: A dropped bolt

MTAG: Acronym for “moveable temporary access gantry,” the various platforms bolting crews stand on while they work (pronounced “em-tag”)

Snug up: To tighten nuts with a hand wrench so metal is against metal, but not to final design specifications

Spud wrench: A hand tool used to line up holes and tighten nuts on bolts

Strongback: L-shaped steel brace temporarily fastened to a bridge deck to provide leverage for adjusting the level of an adjacent deck
