This week’s scheduled work on the new Tacoma Narrows bridge:
Crews will continue assembling the road deck on the west end of the bridge, said Claudia Cornish, spokeswoman for the state Department of Transportation, and might move to midspan if things go well.
They also will be moving deck sections 43 and 44 into place using a technique called trapezing, in which the giant sections are swung from place to place on cables, Cornish said.
Also on the bridge, workers will be adding more temporary construction platforms from which they will weld and bolt other deck sections together, she said.

Off the bridge, workers will be pouring concrete for part of the east anchorage complex and erecting some road barriers on the Gig Harbor approach.
