Construction this week on the new Tacoma Narrows bridge:
Work on the deck sections should be the highlight.
Crews might have lifted the first deck section into place and attached it to the suspender cables over the weekend. If they didn’t, they almost certainly will during the early part of the week, said Claudia Cornish, spokeswoman for the state Department of Transportation.
They also plan to transfer another deck section from the cargo ship Swan, which is anchored under the west span, to the specially designed barge Marmac sometime this week. Crews will prepare that section to be lifted into place once it’s moved to the Marmac and could lift it into place on the bridge, Cornish said.

Work also will continue on land, she said.
Crews will install electrical equipment at the new 24th Street on-ramp and continuing to test the toll booths.
No lane closures are scheduled.
