Construction this week on the new Tacoma Narrows bridge:
Suspension crews will be going full speed ahead on catwalk sections between the Gig Harbor tower and the west anchorage.
The north catwalk was not damaged by its slide Wednesday and was reattached to the Gig Harbor tower Friday.
The two parallel catwalks should be finished by the end of the week, according to construction supervisor Reg Carson.

On the Tacoma side of the Narrows, Tacoma Narrows Constructors is waiting for storm drainage work on the bluff to be done before putting up pilot lines for catwalk rigging.
All the catwalks are scheduled to be completed in five or six weeks.
The remaining equipment at the Glacier Northwest concrete batch plant just off Highway 16 on the Gig Harbor side will be hauled away this week.
When the batch plant is gone, excavation for a sediment detention pond will continue.
A second flagpole will go up at the new War Memorial Park.
