Friends and family of missing Utah woman Susan Powell, whose disappearance has received national attention, will host a candlelight vigil in Puyallup today.
The vigil will be held at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ridgecrest Building, 12407 Military Road East.
Powell, 28, moved from New Mexico to Puyallup when she was 10 and graduated from Rogers High School in 2000. She was reported missing Dec. 7 when she didn’t show up for work in the Salt Lake City suburb of West Valley City.
Her husband, Josh Powell, said he went camping with the couple’s 2-year-old and 4-year-old boys in below-freezing temperatures about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 7 and returned in the evening.
