WA Dept. of Natural Resources hiring for a wide variety of positions, view 89 job postings
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources is looking to fill a large number of full-time, year-round positions. DNR currently has 89 open job listings.
A November press release noted a specific need for about 60 permanent wildfire and forest health positions.
Typically, DNR hires firefighting positions during wildfire season only, not year-round. But according to Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz, who heads up DNR, hiring for the wildfire fighting force has become a top priority, year-round.
The offseason positions will focus on restoring forest health and natural wildfire resistance, according to Franz.
“We are looking for motivated and skilled individuals who have a desire to serve and want to make a difference,” Franz stated in the press release.
Some of the job opportunities DNR has listed across the state:
▪ Fire operations specialists.
▪ Assistant fire management officers.
▪ Hand crew superintendents.
▪ Hand crew foreman.
▪ Hand crew squad bosses.
▪ Initial attack heavy equipment operators.
▪ Prevention technicians.
Overall on the DNR’s job website, as of Dec. 16 there are 89 job listings for a variety of positions across the state.
Salaries range from $40,524 to $146,436 per year, with positions such as interns, firefighters, communication directors, pilots, budget analysts and more.
