Check your wallet: A lottery ticket worth thousands is about to expire in Washington
A lucky lottery player bought a winning ticket worth thousands from a Safeway in Washington.
Now, lottery officials are asking the public to look for the ticket before it expires.
The Match 4 ticket worth $10,000 was purchased March 7 in Everett, Washington’s Lottery said in an Aug. 26 news release.
However, no one will get the prize money if they don’t claim it by Sept. 3, lottery officials said.
The winning numbers were 1, 3, 11 and 16.
Players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize.
If no one comes forward, that money will go into a reserve account, lottery officials said.
“The surplus in the reserve account is transferred to the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA), which supports education,” the lottery office said.
There are nine unclaimed lottery prizes, including a Hit 5 ticket worth $115,000. That ticket will expire Feb. 14, 2025.
Everett is about a 30-mile drive north from Seattle.
