Walla Walla shares Comprehensive Plan draft ahead of June 1 hearing
Walla Walla published its Comprehensive Plan 2046 draft, an updated version of the city's visionary document shaped by input from a community survey, polls, open houses, written comments and stakeholder interviews conducted over the past year.
The document outlines the city's approach to managing and shaping growth over the next 20 years, and the state Growth Management Act requires cities to update the plan every 10 years. The plan will guide development, budgets and public investment.
This update reflects new state requirements, changing community needs and the latest data and trends, the city said in a press release.
Residents can review the document and share further comments at a public hearing by the Walla Walla Planning Commission at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 1. The hearing will be in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 15 N. Third Ave.
The draft document is published on the city's website at wallawallawa.gov/CompPlan. The updated plan must be adopted by December 2026.
