Pierce County sets up online portal for flood-damage reports
Pierce County has set up an online portal for residents, businesses and public entities to report property damage from last week’s flooding.
The county will use the data to determine the extent of the damage and set up recovery efforts, according to a Dec. 12 news release. Reporting property damage might be necessary to receive state and federal disaster assistance, according to the county.
Damage reports can be made at the county’s website.
The widespread flooding was brought on by rain from an atmospheric-river event, leading to evacuation orders, warnings and road closures in Pierce County.
More rain is expected this week, and the National Weather Service has issued flood watches and warnings Monday for several areas throughout Western Washington.
