Snow fell on mountain passes in the northern Cascades early Tuesday.
Washington State Department of Transportation cameras show snow at Stevens Pass on U.S. Highway 2 and at Sherman Pass on U.S. Highway 20.
All passes are open, but traction tires are advised on U.S. 20, and oversized vehicles are prohibited.
The earliest date the North Cascades Highway (20) was closed was Oct. 17, 2003, according to WSDOT. The latest date was Jan. 9, 1989.
