Heavy rain could flood some rivers

Forecasters said Monday that heavy rain expected through the night could cause some rivers to flood, including a stretch of the Puyallup River near Orting.

A strong warm front is moving into Western Washington, bringing 3 to 6 inches of rain on the western slopes of the Cascades, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow level was expected to rise to 6,500 feet by Tuesday (Nov. 25).

Minor flooding was possible on the Puyallup River near Orting, the Snoqualmie, Tolt, Skykomish, Snohomish, Stillaguamish and Nooksack rivers.
