These 5 proposed Washington license plates might stop traffic
Five quick takes on some new special Washington license plates making their way through the Legislature this year.
1. Washington women veterans plates (House Bill 2187) - Absolutely, make it happen. Female vets, we salute you ... while keeping one hand on the wheel, of course.
2. Mount St. Helens plates (HB 2085) - We’re practically erupting with enthusiasm for this overdue tribute. Long have we gazed at the ash, pumice and lava formations, and taken them for granite.
3. Patches Pals plates (HB 1255) - Great idea to honor J.P. Patches, the Seattle children’s television icon. But what about “Brakeman” Bill McLain of Tacoma KSTW-TV fame?
4. Washington wine plates (HB 2050) - Sure, why not. And while you’re promoting tourism (and adult-only delights), don’t forget the craft brew, hard liquor distillery and cannabis grower plates.
5. Seattle NHL hockey team plates (HB 2669) - Seriously? A team with no name, mascot or logo already wants a special plate? What the puck! St. Helens waited 40 years. You can hang on til next year.
