Racism: Who began the KKK?
Re: “KKK, other racist groups disavow ‘white supremacist’ label,” (TNT 12/11).
Nice try. This article is a perfect example of “fake news.” In the article Jay Reeves repeatedly tries to tie Trump, conservatives and the Republican party to the KKK. He goes so far as to provide a short history of the KKK. Problem is Mr. Reeves leaves out one very important word, “Democrat.”
Founder and first Grand Wizard of the KKK was former Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest, southern Democrat, not to mention a delegate to the 1868 New York Democratic National Convention. The Klan functioned as the unofficial paramilitary arm of the Southern Segregationist Government, (Democrats).
The KKK conducted terrorist raids against African Americans and white Republicans in an effort to stop blacks from participating in the political process. Reeves tries very hard to label Republicans, but who really owns that label?
