Expertise: None of us are as smart as we think

Perhaps one of the reasons there is so much division and polarization in the country today is that too many people think they are experts on issues, and therefore are unwilling to consider an opposing view.

Thomas Edison observed that “we don’t know a millionth of one percent about anything”. Who knows, it could be even less than that.

Don’t forget what an expert is: Someone who knows how to be wrong with a lot of authority
