Health care: Reichert takes stand against cancer
Re: “Reichert rises nobly to big challenge,” (TNT editorial, 5/5).
A lawmaker who stays true to his convictions and remains committed to the needs of constituents deserves recognition and our genuine thanks.
Rep. Dave Reichert certainly has earned the respect and thanks of his constituents in Washington’s 8th Congressional District for his courageous “no” vote on the American Health Care Act. If passed by the Senate, the AHCA could leave cancer patients, survivors and those at risk for the disease unable to access or keep quality health insurance
Reichert has always been a champion of cancer research and legislation that helps protect the needs of cancer patients and survivors, as well as those with other chronic diseases. He recognized that the House bill lacked essential protections and decided to vote his conscience.
On behalf of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and all of us dedicated to ensuring that cancer patients have access to affordable, quality health care, thank you, Congressman Reichert.
