Medicare for all: Senators from Washington go AWOL

Both Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell voted against the first bill to allow U.S. citizens to import prescription drugs from Canada. Cantwell’s office answered my letter with the same canned response the drug companies use, that they’re worried about safety.

After some pressure and media spotlight, they did change and vote for the second bill, which passed the Senate.

Now we have a single-payer health care bill being cosponsored by many Democrats. And both our senators were conspicuously absent from cosponsoring the bill.

Time to step up to the plate and represent the people of Washington state, senators. Many of your constituents are watching.
