Immigration: God loves downtrodden; so should we

Often I have wondered how Hitler and his generals were able to have so many followers capable to committing heinous acts toward their fellow human.

Wonder no more. If you listen to Attorney General Jeff Sessions or White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders, you will hear them defend this administration’s cruel separation of immigrant children from parents by quoting the Bible or saying they are merely following the law.

If Sessions is so interested in the Bible, maybe he should read the parts about loving your neighbor as yourself, not bearing false witness or maybe even the story of the Good Samaritan.

You can find verses in the Bible to support just about any view, but you have to keep it all in context and realize God loves mercy more than judgment. And so should we.

God particularly loves the downtrodden and those who are suffering.
