Election: Jesse Young’s questionable ethics

The Aug. 7 primary election is nearing, and there is an important consideration voters in the 26th District need to make.

Rep. Jesse Young has been banned from supervising a legislative assistant or having a district office.

Former campaign staffers said the Gig Harbor lawmaker was prone to “screaming fits.” In it, they described verbally abusive treatment by Young during meetings, or as they called it, a “weekly staff beating.”

More recently, the News Tribune reported Young was “fined again for mixing campaign work and state resources.”

The pattern is clear. If Young cannot operate with a staff or ethically manage resources, then how well is he doing his job?

If he stays in office, what does that say about us?
