Embattled politician: Sawyer needs apology school

Re: “Women who accused Tacoma Democrat of improper behavior now using party cash to unseat him,” (TNT, 7/16).

Thanks to the TNT for the articles on state Rep. David Sawyer, including this most recent one. Oh, my.

Sawyer says he doesn’t remember doing what his accuser said, but “if” he did, he apologizes “if” she was offended.

Someone needs to go to apology school. If I were her, I would accept his apology if I thought he was sincere.

I also thank you for the articles on City of Tacoma and public records, and those on Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist, most recently about whether he deserves credit for opening and pursuing cold case files.

You are holding everyone accountable. I’m not sure those who accuse the TNT of being liberal actually read a representative sample of its articles.

To those who think liberals are the enemy, keep in mind that liberals are on a spectrum just like conservatives. Chances are we agree on many things. Neither of our perspectives is always right.
