Golf course: Don’t cut last bastion of affordability
Re: “County wisely cuts losses on golf course,” (TNT editorial, 9/14).
The law of diminishing returns does not apply to living in a caring community.
Fort Steilacoom is the last bastion of affordable golf in Pierce County. Most golfers playing there are over 65 and on a fixed income.
They can’t afford to play at the expensive courses of Oakbrook or Meadow Park. They have paid county taxes for many years and hope for some benefits.
Golf is the one sport you can play in your diminishing years. Let them play.
