Economy: Clean energy can help us recover
I’ve found a couple takeaways from the recent daily toll of coronavirus cases and deaths:
Bad things can happen to us, and our ideological perspectives can’t change the science of the physical world. And there is starting to be a glimmer of this pandemic coming to an end – at least for a time.
As we recover, attention to our crumbling and outdated infrastructure is being offered as a way to get the economy going again.
This is a good idea – and an opportunity to work on replacing CO2-polluting electricity generation and transportation with clean-energy infrastructure.
Perhaps we’ll have the political will to be proactive in addressing our climate change slow-motion train wreck, given our experience with COVID-19.
