Congress: Kilmer not fixing economic injustices

I have been a pastor for 35 years and have never seen such a level of hopelessness as today.

Recently, I became aware of a senior citizen forced to choose between food and insulin. Often, she will buy less expensive animal insulin. She’s a retired person who can’t afford medicine to stay alive!

Last week, a single mother of two with overpriced health insurance, partially provided by her employer and the remainder self-funded, took her daughter to the doctor with a serious condition. She learned the level of care and treatment her beautiful daughter required would cripple her family.

Yesterday a man who has worked his entire life began to look into retirement but discovered he can’t afford it.

Our current Sixth District Congressperson, Rep. Derek Kilmer, has done nothing to rectify, or even identify with, the economic justice issues facing America.

Something needs to be done, and now! Voters, do your homework, and vote for Rebecca Parson in the Aug. 4 primary.
