Senate race: Nobles knows affordable housing

Ever had a conversation with someone who responds like they didn’t hear a word you said? That’s my experience with Tacoma Sen. Steve O’Ban.

I shared my concern about increased homelessness in our community. He said he’d make more beds available over 10 years for those needing mental health, which he stressed is the reason people find themselves homeless.

I know it’s more complicated but nothing I said moved him.

Twina Nobles does get it. Going to her website I was impressed that housing affordability and homelessness were one of her top issues.

She wants to address mental health and the opioid epidemic but also affordable housing for those with low or fixed incomes who find themselves priced out of our market.

She’s fighting for renters and living wages for workers. That’s a holistic approach that makes our community safer for families and helps everyone.
