Congress: Strickland solid on health care reform

As we face the public health crisis posed by the coronavirus, protecting the progress we’ve made under the Affordable Care Act and lowering the cost of health care is more important than ever.

As a nurse practitioner in primary care in the South Sound, I know that candidate for the 10th Congressional District Marilyn Strickland is the right person to help do that.

Marilyn knows that health care is a human right, and she’s committed to ensuring everyone, no matter their income, employment or citizenship status, has affordable, equitable, high-quality health care.

She has achievable, commonsense plans for making progress: strengthening protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions; adding a public option, which will increase coverage and lead to better plans from private insurers; lowering the eligibility age for Medicare; and increasing the age for children to stay on their parents’ insurance.

That is the kind of plan and leadership we need for South Sound families.
