The editorial board cheerleaders for the destructive Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement fail to take into account the damage other agreements such as NAFTA have done since 1993.
More than 1 million U.S. jobs have gone to low-wage countries. Thousands of small businesses have been destroyed. The last "free trade" agreement with South Korea - also promoted as a great economic plus for the U.S. - has not produced one job but has increased our trade deficit with that country by millions of dollars.
There is a reason these agreements are negotiated in secret and voted on without debate. They are anti-American in every way: anti-worker, anti-small business and another boondoogle for Wall Street investors.
The TPP is just another nail in the coffin of the middle class.
