I've lived in the Lincoln District for more than 30 years, and I've seen traffic congestion continue to grow. With the addition of the Albertsons and Walgreens stores and strip mall stores at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and South 38th Street, traffic can come to a backed-up stand-still at times.
Pierce County has addressed parking issues, but the traffic flow to and from the building concerns me. No major installation or modification of the arterials was presented at the town hall.
Most of the traffic is going to flow to 38th and Pacific. If traffic is backing up already, what's going to happen with a few thousand county employees and customers?
Widespread support? Where were the members of the Lincoln/International District business community at the Jan. 22 meeting?
