Re: The proposed Pierce County administration building.
Taking a step back is not easy, especially when doing so, may cost a million dollars. This insular decision calls leadership into question. It seems better to be wrong in unity, than right and alone.
Leadership can be difficult. I do not envy the decision makers, however we must build for our grandchildren in years to come.
Courage is needed to do the right thing. Please do not move forward with the decision to build the Pierce County administration building without an open and transparent study of the options with the citizenry of the county.
The stealth approach may not be effective and may not be in the best interest of the citizens. The courage of our convictions and the vision of leadership must guide us with a master plan.
Moving ahead could easily prove to be the wrong decision. I implore the county to take a three- to six-month delay and conduct an open and transparent study of the options available.
