Re: "Shall we pray? For Congress, it's a sensitive question" (TNT, 3-19).
When asked to offer a prayer in a setting outside of my own church or faith, I have felt free to do so. Mindful that persons of many faiths, or of no religious faith, may be present there, and mindful of the teachings/instructions of the founder of my faith to be obedient to those instructions, I have a way of closing my prayers.
It is simply these words: "O God, listen to our words and grant our petitions in accordance to Thy will. As for me, I pray in the name of Christ. Amen."
