Since business owners seem to think they will not survive paying $15 an hour to employees, maybe the general public ought to be taxed to support the lack of adequate income for many working people.
What is being paid to low-wage workers now will not support the basic needs of anyone in this society: rent, doctors, dentist, child care, food, etc. All kinds of excuses come from those who take from the have-nots for their own benefit.
When a financial system functions on another's suffering for basic needs, it is evil; decent human beings would put an end to it. But then, I'm not sure this culture's worship of capitalism would permit morality.
