Pierce County joins Gov. Jay Inslee in proclaiming May 16-20, 2016 “Juror Appreciation Week.” To all who have served on Pierce County juries: Thank you! Superior Court recognizes the sacrifices many of you make. Juries are a cornerstone of our American court system, and without you our jury trial system would grind to a halt.
In 2015, Pierce County Superior Court summoned 83,249 jurors for service in various courts. Last year, 19,881 jurors served on Superior Court, District Court and Tacoma Municipal Court cases.
Jurors come from all walks of life; they are your friends, neighbors and co-workers. When you receive a summons for jury service in your mailbox, I urge you to do your civic duty and respond. Superior Court values its jurors and their service all 52 weeks of the year.
