Western State: Wheel of lawsuits goes round and round

I used to work for Western State Hospital and I remember the running joke: The state always pays. File a lawsuit for discrimination, sexual harassment or whatever, and the state will pay you to just sweep it under the rug as quick as possible.

Over the years I have read about numerous lawsuits regarding Western State. I would be curious to see just how much the taxpayers of Washington have paid in such lawsuits. Just imagine how much of that money could have gone to patient care.
