Roads: Simultaneous construction was bad idea

A huge rant to whatever official decided it would be a good thing to do disruptive road work on both Mildred Street and Bridgeport Way at the same time this summer. Both projects are between 27th and 19th streets, and both generate backups and slow going.

Doing both at the same time makes it virtually impossible to get from University Place to the freeway without getting stuck in traffic, especially in the mid-afternoon. I know road work has to be accomplished, but at the same time? Really?
