Coho fishing gets an early start south of Foulweather Bluff

The section of Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet) south of Foulweather Bluff will open two weeks early for coho fishing.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 16, Anglers the area between the bluff and Olele Point will have a daily limit of two salmon but must release chum and chinook

“With the chinook season wrapping up and a strong run of coho expected, we are able to open the area two weeks early this year,” Ryan Lothrop, WDFW’s Puget Sound recreational salmon manager, said in a prepared statement.
