Motorcyclist killed in crash at Mount Rainier

A motorcyclist died Thursday when he went off Stevens Canyon Road at Mount Rainier National Park.

The accident happened at the east end of Stevens Canyon. There were no witnesses to the accident, although the victim was riding with friends when he went off the road at a hairpin turn, park spokeswoman Patti Wold said in a news release issued Monday morning. Park climbing rangers recovered the man’s body.

The Washington State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.

The victim’s identification and details of the crash were not available.
