Olympic NP work party set for Saturday

Friends of Olympic National Park is hosting a work party Saturday, Oct. 4, in Port Angeles.

The work starts at 9 a.m. at the Olympic Olympic National Park Visitor Center, 3002 Mount Angeles Road, and is scheduled to last 2 ½ hours.

Work includes pruning, exotic plant removal, weeding, raking and maintenance of nearby trails. Participants are asked to bring their own tools and gloves but some will be available.

The groups regular cleanup projects at the park "are designed to address park maintenance needs and provide an opportunity to bring together the Friends membership, park volunteers, and the public," said Friends of Olympic National Park president David Morris. "We hope that as many people as possible can participate in this effort."
