Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds

WHAT: This is the 12th year that 22,000 square feet of Kitsap County Fairgrounds are turned into a scary venue. The event is produced by Kitsap Haunted Productions and the Kingston-NK Rotary Club. Proceeds go to other community events and charities designated by the club.

WHEN: 6-11 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

WHERE: Kitsap County Fairgrounds, 1200 NW Fairgrounds Road, Bremerton.

WHAT TO DO: This year’s haunted fairgrounds will have the look and feel of New Orleans. Visitors will take a self-guided tour through a cemetery with above-ground tombs and through the “Cities of the Dead,” described as a crossroads between the worlds of the living and the dead. There will be ghosts of some of New Orleans’ most famous serial killers, as well as the voodoo spirit “Baron Samedi.” Watch for the demonic clowns running about as well.

COST: $12 per person. VIP admission is $20, good for two times through and front-of-the-line privileges. Donating canned food is good for $1 off either admission.

OF NOTE: Organizers leave it up to parents as to how young their children can be before going through the scenes. They allow people who are easily frightended to go through with the lights on from 5-6 p.m. each night.
