Thurston County runners giving back with Gear Grab

Thurston County runners are giving back to their sport by donating new and used gear for underpriveledged runners and walkers in conjunction with a new Olympia fun run.

The “Gear Grab” is scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 14 in Olympia where those without resources to purchase their own gear will have the chance to receive donated items. The Gear Grab is scheduled for Drexel House, 604 Devoe Street, and Quixote Village, 3350 Mottman Road SW.

Organizers for the new Run Olympia Relay will collect gear at its Dec. 13 race at Marathon Park and on Dec. 12 at its 4-7 p.m running expo at Inspire Physical Therapy, 4740 Avery Lane.

Other drop-off locations accepting donation through Dec. 12 include: Tumwater Meconi’, 111 Tumwater Blvd. S.E.; Olympia Meconi’s, 1018 Capitol Way S.; Project Run at Inspire Physical Therapy; Human Body Work, 4510 Intelco Loop S.E., Lacey; Rosser Chiropractic, 705 4th Ave East, Olympia; Vivala, 111 Market Street, Olympia; and Fit Life Studios, 1890 Barnes Blvd., Tumwater.
