Weekend skiing update: Who’s open? Who’s closed?

Ski season is off to a slow start in Washington, with some ski areas still uncertain when they’ll be able to fire up their lifts. Here are the weekend plans so far for the state’s largest ski areas areas:

Crystal Mountain: Needs a foot of snow to reopen Green Valley. Will evaluate conditions Friday, according to a statement posted on its website.

White Pass: Plans to reopen Friday and Saturday.

Summit at Snoqualmie: Needs more snow and less rain to open. Only 18 inches of snow up top at Alpental.

Stevens Pass: Sacrificing pineapples in hopes of bring colder weather. Only 11 inches of snow at the base. No announcement yet regarding the weekend.

Mt. Baker: Not enough snow to open, but no official word yet regarding weekend operations.

Mission Ridge: Plans to operate two lifts Saturday and Sunday.

49 Degrees North: Currently closed.

Mount Spokane: Currently closed.

Methow Valley Sports Trails: Open with temperatures cold enough for grooming on some trails.
