Kirtley, Rondon lead Palm Beach over Charlotte

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) -- Zach Kirtley hit a grand slam in the fifth inning, and Angel Rondon allowed just one hit over five innings as the Palm Beach Cardinals topped the Charlotte Stone Crabs 7-1 on Saturday.

The grand slam by Kirtley scored Chase Pinder, Rayder Ascanio, and Justin Toerner to give the Cardinals a 6-1 lead.

Rondon (2-0) allowed one run while striking out three and walking three to pick up the win.

Paul Campbell (0-2) went five innings, allowing six runs and seven hits in the Florida State League game. He also struck out three and walked four.
