Tracking local golfers on the PGA Tour for May 28-31, 2015

This week: AT&T Byron Nelson, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas.

In the field: Olympia’s Andres Gonzales and University Place’s Michael and Andrew Putnam.

World rankings: Gonzales is 276th, Michael Putnam is 277th, and Andrew Putnam is 349th.

2014-15 earnings: Gonzales has $698,770 (86th on the PGA Tour), Michael Putnam has $369,275 (138th on the PGA Tour), and Andrew Putnam has $251,812 (162nd on the PGA Tour).

The skinny: Gonzales and Michael Putnam played in last week’s Colonial, with Gonzales finishing 72nd (4-over-par 284) and the older Putnam missing the cut (4-over 144). Although he is not finishing as high as he did earlier in the season, Gonzales is still making lots of cuts — 13 in 17 tournaments. His previous career high on the PGA Tour was nine cuts made, set in 2011. … Michael Putnam continues to be plagued by his hot-and-cold putter. It has been mostly cold. Last season, he was 157th in strokes gained in putting (minus-.406). It has worsened to 183rd this season (minus-.661). … Andrew Putnam has been the complete opposite of his brother — a superb putter (ranks 17th on the PGA Tour) but an inconsistent ball-striker. He is near the bottom of the tour rankings in greens hit in regulation (187th at 60.5 percent per round).

Tee times Thursday: Gonzales at 6:30 a.m. (PDT), Andrew Putnam at 6:50 a.m. and Michael Putnam at 11:20 a.m. All go off the first tee.
