This week: Wyndham Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina.
In the field: Puyallup’s Ryan Moore, Olympia’s Andres Gonzales, University Place’s Michael and Andrew Putnam, Tacoma’s Troy Kelly and Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley.
World rankings: Moore is 43rd, Gonzales is 253th, Michael Putnam is 289th, Andrew Putnam is 442nd, Stanley is 557th, and Kelly is 963rd.
2014-15 earnings: Moore has $2.46 million (27th on the PGA Tour), Gonzales has $925,335 (103rd on the PGA Tour), Michael Putnam has $557,803 (150th on the PGA Tour), Andrew Putnam has $282.879 (175th on the PGA Tour), Stanley has $232,716 (184th on the PGA Tour), and Kelly has $56,369 (220th on the PGA Tour).
The skinny: The gang’s all here for the final regular-season PGA Tour tournament. The last time all six golfers were in the field was the John Deere Classic in mid-July. So to the important stuff —who is a lock to make the top 125 and be involved in the FedEx Cup playoffs. The only two golfers who have clinched are the 26th-ranked Moore — who tied for 37th at last week’s PGA Championship (3-under-par 285) at Whistling Straits — and the 104th-ranked Gonzales. Michael Putnam needs to finish no worse than 16th to get in. Andrew Putnam and Stanley would get in with at least a runner-up finish. And Kelly would likely have to win the tournament to make the playoffs. For those who fail to qualify, it would mean a trip to the Web.com Tour playoffs next month to earn their PGA Tour card for next season.
Tee times Thursday: Kelly at 4 a.m. (PDT) off the 10th tee, Andrew Putnam at 5:50 a.m. off the 10th tee, Stanley at 9 a.m. off the 10th tee, Michael Putnam at 9:10 a.m. off the first tee, Moore at 9:50 a.m. off the 10th tee and Gonzales at 10:10 a.m. off the first tee.
