Scouting report

TCU is off to a tumultuous 4-3 start, due in part to injuries to three key players. The status of TCU starting guard Chauncey Collins is uncertain after he injured his quadriceps and missed the Horned Frogs’ win over Colgate last week. TCU will also be without Chris Washburn (broken finger) and Kenrich Williams (out for season with knee injury). … TCU’s wins: Southeastern Louisiana, Houston Baptist, Illinois State and Colgate. Its losses: South Dakota State, Rhode Island and then-No. 22 SMU. … The Huskies might have their hands full with 6-10, 215-pound sophomore Vladimir Brodziansky, who averages 14.9 points per game and makes 61.2 percent of his field-goal attempts. UW’s frontcourt players have been stymied by foul trouble in several games already this season, and Brodziansky is a good scorer who takes advantage of those mistakes. can take advantage of those kind of mistakes. … TCU’s other starting forward Karviar Shepherd, is also 6-foot-10 and nearly averages double-figures, too. … ranks the Horned Frogs as the No. 100 team in the country, and UW 109th. … The Horned Frogs tied for ninth out of 11 teams in the Big 12 preseason media poll after finishing 18-15 and 4-14 in Big 12 play last season, despite a 13-0 start.
