Scouting report: Cameron Dollar, a former assistant under coach Lorenzo Romar at UW, is in his seventh season as coach of the Redhawks. Last season, Seattle U fell one win short of qualifying for the NCAA tournament, then won two games in the CBI tournament before losing to Loyola (Chicago) in the semifinals. … Seattle U lost a few key players from last season’s team, including Federal Way grad and leading scorer Isiah Umipig (17.5 ppg) and guards Jarell Flora and Emerson Murray, and junior forward Deshan Sunderhaus had to retire from basketball due to a knee injury. Wiliam Powell, a junior forward, is the team’s leading returning scorer, and he averaged 7.8 points per game last season. Westendorf and Crook lead the team in scoring this season. … The WAC preseason media poll predicted a fifth-place finish for the Redhawks out of eight teams. ... Seattle U’s wins: Eastern Washington, Great Falls, Miss. Valley State, NW Indian College, San Jose State. Its losses: Ark.-Pine Bluff, Sacramento State, Eastern Wash., California, Cal State-Fullerton and Ala.-Birmingham. … The Redhawks shoot 43.4% from the field as a team, 37.9% from 3-point range and 65.2% from the free-throw line. Leading the team in 3-point attempts are Manroop Clair (60) and Westendorf (46). … Crook, at 6-foot-11, might pose a challenge inside for UW’s young frontcourt, particularly if Chriss and Dickerson get in early foul trouble. … The Huskies haven’t lost to Seattle U since 1978, winning each of the past 10 meetings between the teams. Seven of those have come in the last seven seasons, after the rivalry was renewed in March 2009.
