In a Twitter post Friday morning, Kalepo thanked his parents, his workout crew at Ford Performance Center, including founder Tracy Ford, and his coaches at Rainier Beach, especially coach Corey Sampson.
“With that being said, I’m staying home and officially committed to the University of Washington,” Kalepo said.
It is the second commitment for the Huskies in that class. Graham-Kapowsin quarterback Dylan Morris was the first one to choose the UW.
Kalepo had other offers from BYU, Fresno State, Hawaii, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah State and Washington State.
Oregon and UCLA were his two other finalists.
