Starting safety C.J. Wallace, who suffered a concussion in a scary play during a Thursday scrimmage, is OK and promises he will be ready for the season-opener Sept. 2 vs. San Jose State.
Wallace suffered a concussion at a part of the practice that was closed to the media. However, Coach WIllingham today described one of those scary plays where Wallace remained still on the ground while medical personnel reacted cautiously due to fear of a neck injury. Then he was taken by ambulance to the hospital before being released later in the evening.
It must have been quite a play, as safety Jason Wells also was shaken up, and receiver Anthony Russo suffered a thigh bruise.
All are expected to be OK.
We'll have some quotes from Wallace in the Saturday paper.
