I guess Isaiah Stanback quieted any talk of a quarterback controversy for a while. But I thought
decisions by Tyrone Willingham clearly came into play on at least three occasions, with mixed results.
On their final drive of the first half, he had the Huskies go for it on fourth and one from their own 47. A Stanback sneak worked, and the Huskies went on for the touchdown that provided a 14-7 halftime lead.
After going ahead 21-14, Willingham ordered a short kickoff to the sideline, which came down at the Fresno 33. That good field position became even better due to a personal foul penalty, so the Bulldogs took over at their own 48. Eleven plays later, they scored their final touchdown.
Finally, when Mesphin Forrester returned the first interception of his career to the Fresno one yard line with just over a minute remaining, Willingham had Stanback take a knee rather than try to add to the score.
Thoughts on any of these?
