Hawes isn't playing.
And that's the fewest first-half points for Washington since scoring 19 at Wyoming in 2003.
And actually, it's amazing that the game is this close, especially considering the Huskies went almost nine minutes without scoring. But they closed with a couple of three-pointers and a margin that leaves them at least technicaly withing striking distance.
The question is: Who's going to do the striking? Appleby hit three threes, and his nine points leads the Huskies. But Wu is shooting 31 percent as a team, and obviously, that won't do. Also, the Cougs have blocked five UW shots.
Even without Hawes, and despite all those missed shots, UW holds a slight lead on the boards: 19-16.
