Franklin High School point guard Venoy Overton has sent his his letter of intent, officially making him the newest member of this basketball recruiting class.
"He is a guard that can really guard the ball," coach Lorenzo Romar said. "He has great quickness and athleticism. He can really push the basketball, and he does a good job finding people. But I think as good as he is in all of those areas, he's even better at winning. I think that's his best skill: He really helps you win games. For some reason, I like that skill."
The 6-foot-1 point guard joins a UW class that includes power forwards Matthew Bryan-Amaning - Isiah Thomas' current teammate at South Kent - and Darnell Grant, and small forward Justin Holiday.
He will join a UW guard corps returning guards Justin Dentmon, Ryan Appleby, Adrian Oliver, Joel Smith and Stanford transfer Tim Morris.
