Submitted by Ryan Divish, The News Tribune's national baseball writer, who was covering practice for me Tuesday:
For the second consecutive day, receiver D'Andre Goodwin and safety Nate Williams wore red jerseys, signifying no-contact. They did not practice, and earlier in the weekly Pacific-10 Conference coaches teleconference, UW coach Steve Sarkisian said the team is planning on not having either one of them for Saturday – one day after he said they would likely be in uniform.
"It's hard to see significant improvement from a person until he practices," Sarkisian said. "Those two did not pass it yesterday."
Victor Aiyewa practiced with the first-string defense in place of Williams, and Greg Walker in place of Justin Glenn (season-ending surgery Wednesday for broken right leg) at free safety. Reserves Jason Wells and Nate Fellner are also in the mix.
• Running back Johri Fogerson missed practice with an illness.
• Linebacker E.J. Savannah (foot) participated with the No. 1 defense.
• A mild surprise. Cornerback Quinton Richardson worked out almost exclusively with the No. 2 defense, while freshmen Adam Long worked in Richardson's spot at corner opposite Desmond Trufant.
• Greg Christine and Nick Wood both worked in at left guard with the No. 1 offense.
