Thomas' honor 'like a cherry on top' of sweep

Washington guard Isaiah Thomas has been named Pac-10 player of the week for leading the Huskies' sweep of California and Stanford.

The junior from Tacoma averaged 22.5 points, five assists and three rebounds, while shooting 56.5 percent from the field. In the win over Cal on Thursday, Thomas had nine assists and a career-high six 3-pointer.

This is the third player-of-the-week honor for Thomas this season.

"It's an honor, a blessing you could say," Thomas said. "As long as we win, I really don't worry about the Pac-10 player of the week. It's an honor -- like a cherry on top -- especially when you're winning games. ... Without my teammates thre's no way I can get it. But ups to them. I dedicate it to them every time I get one."

Other players nominated this week were Kyle Fogg of Arizona, Jeremy Green of Stanford, Malcolm Lee of UCLA and Nikola Vucevic of USC.
